Thanks for all the knowledge and tips offered. It is people with determination like yours that drive us in our activities. Suddenly, I forgot my past 4000 weddings, and I saw the need to rethink techniques and old practices for new pictures, the ability to document the same scenes over again. This is the secret: Make the next event a new challenge. A new opportunity to discover something worth every penny that we are paid. Again, thank you and continue with this great thing you are doing.

Today I write about Vini!!!!! Well, I invented the nickname, but on with the story...

Some time ago, I read an article in a popular Brazilian photography magazine (Best Photograph, for those not in the know) on Vinícius Matos. There was a picture of a beautiful bride with a scarf in a beautiful environment, and the story about the author of the picture, giving tips. It said something about using a flashlight to photograph. An expensive alternative, right? - I thought. And there he was talking about being a photographer (if I remember right) 3 years!! Whaaaaat?? The guy is shooting threeeeeee years and has already been called "THE Photographer"???? I've been shooting for longer! But it was that determination, study and commitment to something which made me fall in love ....

I ended up at the School of Image in BH to do some photography courses. Vinícius is at the School of Image, but I had not made that connection very well yet. Even before the course started, I saw the building that I was going to be in, the house of a friend, Elianinha of Tchuco. I saw a guy dressed in everyday clothes and walking with a dog that had something like a lampshade on his head. I found it funny. I then went to the School of Image, for pro courses. Well, in short: I saw this dog there again! I thought, crazy! Is it here in BH that all dogs use lampshades????? But it was the same dog. The guy was Vinicius, who lives with his beautiful family in the same building as me in BH. (Ah! The "lampshade" on his head, is because the poor dog was sick ...)

Finally in some hundreds of courses I took there, I was finally got to know Vinícius. Empathy was almost immediate - you know when there are people who "chat" or "make small talk"? Yeah, Vini surprised me for a million reasons. And today, the "critical" part of my short time the road as a photographer is that I became a main proponent of his work. He is undoubtedly one of the guys I most admire today. It is a very rough comparison, but he is the "Ivete" of Photography for me. I do not need to define an "Ivete," right? The whole world knows that an "Ivete" is all good. Another level, no comparison.

Then, as is the Vini.

A guy who not so long ago (Maybe 6-7 years) worked in the corporate world. Suddenly, he turned photographer. And his raw talent emerged, which was asleep and woke up suddenly, ready. This, combined with a lot of gut, talent, and lots of study gives us the Vini of today, a guy who is super successful in everything he does.

I have spoken to brides who say, "Only if the photographer is Vinicius!"

It is true, it is the dream of every Brazilian bride today. His work is wonderful. Jaw-dropping!

In the courses I did with him (2 weddings, a children's party, and a birth [birth I knew it was a photo delivery, just in case ...:)]) I saw that above all else, the guy is an excellent administrator for absolutely EVERYTHING. Excellent teachers, those who take pleasure in telling you straight out what it might have taken months to learn, those who do not hide the "ace in the hole." When I say excellent administrator of all, for example: he teaches photography to his wedding COMPETITORS. Gives direction to the PROS!! Teaches all! Even cares about us! I would not have been this cold-blooded, certainly not. But he is. And so he is where he is today, each day more famous!

Last year he came to an Association of super famous and respected wedding photographers from around the world. He managed to come in after 2, already associated with the elite, his work was given an "ok" and was approved. Once enrolled for the contest of this association he was ... you guessed it! He was awarded in a lot of categories! Took first place in one of them! Herein, taking Brazilian photography by storm!

Now, people, on his blog (which is a MUST READ-I'll leave the link later), in the "who am I," you know who wrote it? Walter Firmo, super hyper mega famous Brazilian photographer. No, excuse. The guy is too.

And that so many people who (deservedly) go gaga for him that I'll be just a little voice here. His father, "his" John Flavio is a wonderful guy!! We traveled with a photo and he was very excited! As far as I know that is the kind of Vinícius that "inherited" the love of photography of "their" John! Go figure! :) The staff of the School of Image, ALL hyper attentive to everyone .... Hyper-trained ... Lovely! I am "thrilled" as they say here in Spain.

Well, a picture is worth a thousand words, right? Imagine then a thousand pictures! Geez! I did not need one LETTER history of Vini!

As it now he's very very famous because of this competition and this association, I will put a picture I took with him after finishing a course I did. Gee, now that he's become famous! I knew this picture would be good for something! Hahhahaha

Enough talk, let me show you the EVIDENCE!

Give a (good) look at the blog of Vini, even if you not a fan of photography! It's worth it if you are even interested in photography, so be sure to read! :)

Rodrigo Zapico

Well, this is the testimonial to make us rethink everything! How so? It's called responsibility. After reading what Zapico Rodrigo wrote in his blog, I will speed up the creation of more courses that I have had for some time in my mind. One is only about wedding lighting techniques, which will be out later this year.

Thanks friends for the confidence and the words that will be marked forever! Thanks!

If any of the 15 members who were in Room 13, 1st floor, the Body Wisdom Avenida Angélica, 2100, was undoubtedly to follow in that short but intense living for the last 2 days between great photos, cool slides, and many - say, maaaaany - super projects consisting of teaching photography for those who will one day do more than simply push a button.

Truth be told, like me, many, on Monday, were totally excited that the content would be taught by one of the photographers, who personally feels great artists not only have a single job, but also to maintain a clear cohesion of all events that are clicked on your lenses.

After the impact of a classic first day of school, already before the master that would guide us into the world of pictures, Vinícius Matos, anxiety began to give way to knowledge that it was more than a monetary investment, we had all done a very large personal investment and no doubt priceless, in the true sense of the word.

In all professions there are always good, those who consider themselves good and those who are considered good by those who follow them closely, hangers-on.

The fact is that there was a pair of eyes there that doubted the unique quality of the speaker, delivering moments of poetic images so expressively.

Slowly it moved to having no doubt also that the 'teacher' Vinicius knew not only how to perform magic, but also many of the tricks that would lead any member of the audience to outline the first steps towards the big tricks.

It is true that education only happens in fact when the builders of the two sides of the bridge are really engaged in what they do. The students were. The Matos was. Perfect. A high rate of very good questions that within the possibilities were very well answered. Great information that taught us not only to give the 'ace in the hole' but also showed us that with will and persistence, things tend to happen naturally.

The fact is that you're worth what people will pay. We are not here to judge value of services or even criticize the work of friends or competitors, but the priority is the complete truth of the market in which we distribute our art. After all, photography is, for me, the poetry of the moment. And here for us, not all poets are great.

It was nice to see that after a rain of monochrome pictures, we were able to bring all the colors of the rainbow and special moments, marked out by a teacher who can assume that, like humans, after decisions that are not always correct, we learn that above all we must follow our intuition and forget the rules. After all, those were even made to be broken.

This is from me and a couple of students, as I am happy to have received some emails from a few of them.

This came from a couple of photographers, Paulo and Goias Cida, who I noticed during the two workshops always sat in the first row, they noted everything, and unblinkingly, as not to miss anything. In the second workshop, Marketing and Sales, market-oriented wedding photography, they briefly appeared suspicious of what I spoke of, especially when I talked about prices and discounts. What happens is that most people who live in smaller towns, not the big cities like Sao Paulo and Rio, they think they cannot charge more for unique work. Anyone can have their work valued, even if they live in a city of 10 thousand people. Just be worth it, or do something that your competitors do not. This is the law of the market that has existed since the time of early trading. Why were the Indian spices so valued? Because they were found only in India and few people knew to go there. They were rare. The better and more often the photographer is required, the more and more he can charge for his good work. The math is simple. Becoming valuable is hard work, but not impossible. The couple believed in it and changed their business. Accompanying this is a statement that made me very happy! I just helped him in finding the way to India!

"Hello Vinicius, I am Paulo César. I've been in your workshop in December and January, the couple (Paul and Citizenship) of Goiás. After this workshop I was able to open my mind, forget my competition and increase my prices. It was amazing the value applied today, with the sales techniques taught by you-it was worth every penny, thanks a lot! May you always continue with this success. "
